The Wiggles Concert

There is a reason why The Wiggles concert was the #4 Top Grossing Concert Tour of 2008. How can anyone NOT take their little Wiggles fan to see them in person? His Grandma Dottie bought him this "Big Red Car" t-shirt and for the first few days he carried it around with him just like a blankie. At one point I had to let him take a bath with it! At least now he's down to just wanting to wear it every single day...

My biggie boy! Jake's curls were truly out of control so I took him for a trim this past weekend. I told the lady to take his curly locks down about 1/2 the length. She ended up giving him a big-boy haircut! I don't think I was ready for it yet, but everyone tells me it's adorable.

It took me awhile to get used to it! But it suits him well. And his curls are already growing back in.

He is completely into The Wiggles and their Big Red Car. He's starting to say words and definitely understands A LOT more than he's able to communicate. He has us laughing all the time! He goes to "school" a few days a week and gets excited when he sees we're pulling into the parking lot to drop him off. He is clearly very happy to be there and that's a good thing.

Life is good!

Hanging Around

Here are a couple photos of Jake just hanging around the house. He loves watching the Wiggles on video. I walked in an found him relaxing in his chair, watching the DVD. I thought it was worth a picture! I'm trying to take more photos, as I'm finding weeks are going by and I'm not getting pictures taken. I'm doing better!

Jake's 1st Haircut!

For Jake's 1st Haircut we went to "Pigtails and Crewcuts" where the barber chairs are much more fun---as you can see! There were no tears and no fussing. Jake munched on the complimentary animal crackers and "drove" his car while his curly locks were trimmed.

Ta-Da! Still curly....

Well---Jake got his haircut, but his hair is now curlier than ever! He looks just like his daddy did at the same age!

Jake's First Solid Food - Part 1

On Friday Jake had his six month check-up. He weighed in a little over 18 pounds and 28 very long inches long! He's in the 90th percentile for height and 75th percentile for weight. Right on track to be a tall healthy boy!

The pediatrician gave us the go-ahead to start Jake on solid foods so today was his first real meal. Grandma Dottie was on-hand to help with the big event. Jake's been ready for a couple weeks for "real" food but we held off until we were done traveling and could focus on doing this right. I swear he knew the big day had finally arrived!
